Carnival Cancels 11 Carnival Firenze Sailings This Fall
Carnival Cruise Line has announced it will cancel a series of eleven upcoming sailings aboard Carnival Firenze, impacting several weeks of cruises scheduled for fall 2026.
According to communication sent to affected guests, the cruise line said the cancellations are necessary to “make some changes to the itinerary plans for Carnival Firenze.” While Carnival did not provide specific details about the changes, the move affects a number of short Baja Mexico cruises departing from Los Angeles.
Which Firenze Sailings Are Affected
The cancellations impact 11 sailings scheduled between October 12 and November 16, 2026.
All of the affected cruises were 3 and 4 day Baja Mexico itineraries sailing roundtrip from Los Angeles. Short Baja sailings are among Carnival’s most popular West Coast itineraries, making this a notable disruption for guests who had already booked fall getaways.
Based on the ship’s capacity, the cancellations could affect up to approximately 57,860 passengers across the impacted voyages.
Options for Guests With Cancelled Cruises
Carnival is offering guests several options following the cancellation.
Reschedule
Passengers may choose to move their booking to a comparable sailing and keep their current cruise fare and stateroom category, which can be valuable if prices have increased since the original booking.
Guests who choose this option will also receive $50 per person in onboard credit, capped at $100 per stateroom.
Full Refund
For guests who prefer not to reschedule, Carnival is also offering a full refund including deposits and all pre-purchased add-ons like drink packages, shore excursions, or internet packages. Refunds will be issued back to the original form of payment.
Deadline to Make a Decision
Guests impacted by the cancellations must decide whether they want to move to another sailing or request a refund by March 25, 2026.
To make a change, guests should contact their travel advisor or reach out directly to Carnival Guest Services at 1-800-CARNIVAL.
Our Take:
Cruise lines occasionally cancel sailings for ship maintenance, redeployments, or itinerary changes, but a block of 11 consecutive sailings being removed from the schedule is relatively unusual.
Because the affected cruises are short Baja itineraries, many bookings are likely for quick weekend getaways or celebrations. For those guests, rescheduling may not be as simple as shifting to a different date. Thankfully, guests were given 6 months notice which should allow some flexibility in planning.
It will be interesting to see what changes Carnival ultimately makes to Carnival Firenze’s deployment or itineraries that required pulling these sailings from the schedule.
For now, guests booked on the affected cruises will need to decide whether to rebook or take the refund before the March 25 deadline.
