Carnival Conquest Leaves Dry Dock With A Few Improvements

Carnival Conquest, which first set sail in 2002, just finished a 12-day dry dock at Grand Bahama Shipyard. While the dry dock was mostly for routine maintenance and service, Carnival also made a few enhancements during this time.

Heroes Tribute Bar Replaces SkyBox Sports Bar

SkyBox Sports Bar has been rethemed to Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge

Like Carnival has done during many of its recent refurbishments, Carnival has transformed the SkyBox Sports Bar into the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge. The space still has the same big screen TVs and layout, but the decor has been updated to the new theme.

The Heroes Tribute Bar first debuted on the Carnival Panorama and was an instant hit, soon spreading across the fleet. The bar pays tribute to our men and women in service with memorabilia and decor honoring them.

Expanded Casino

Carnival also took the opportunity to expand the casino area. Thankfully, they were able to do this without removing the casino bar, which has been removed on several classes of Carnival ships recently.

They added extra slot machines at the end of the casino bar on the starboard side. The Conquest also had a small performance space or stage right off the casino. Carnival removed this casino stage and relocated it next to the Alchemy Bar. They were also able to add extra seating in that area of the Alchemy Bar.

Expanded Lobby Stage

Previously, the stage in the atrium couldn’t hold all the band members.

Carnival is known for having talented live performers throughout the ship, often with full bands playing in places like the main atrium. But that was not always the case. When the ship was built, it did not have an atrium stage, and the one added years later was too small for the entire band to stand on. Usually, at least one member had to stand off the stage.

They have now increased the size of the stage so the full band can perform together.

Updated Club O2 and Warehouse Video Arcade

Carnival also took this opportunity to update the decor in the teen club, Club O2. They added new gaming areas and gave the space a refresh. They also renovated the Warehouse Video Arcade next door, adding new games with more interactive play experiences.

Retail Refresh

Some of the shops onboard were also refreshed. The Effy, Pandora, and Swarovski stores were all updated.
