Carnival Valor Refreshed with New Water Park and More

Carnival Valor just re-entered service after a comprehensive dry dock at Navantia Shipyard in Cádiz, Spain. The Valor originally debuted in 2004 as the third Conquest Class ship to sail for Carnival. This refresh modernizes the ship bringing it closer to newer ships a bit, but you won’t notice any drastic changes.

Heroes Tribute Lounge

In a change we’ve seen on many other ships across the fleet, the SkyBox Sports Bar on Deck 5 has been transformed into the Heroes Tribute Lounge. The venue still features a large bar and big-screen TVs, but it has been re-themed to pay tribute to our men and women in service.

The Heroes Tribute Lounge first debuted on the Panorama in 2018 and can now be found on 16 ships across the fleet.

Carnival WaterWorks Aqua Park Added

The Carnival Valor originally had a single “Twister” water slide located on the Panorama Deck (Deck 10). In that area, it also featured a small pool called the Dolphin Pool and a hot tub.

During the renovations, Carnival added a second large, enclosed water slide and a smaller splash structure for younger children. To make room, they removed the pool and hot tub from this area. This update brings the ship more in line with the amenities offered on other vessels in the fleet.

Stateroom Upgrades

The staterooms on the Valor also underwent some upgrades to bring them up to date. Most notably, this includes USB charging outlets at the desk and on bedside lamps.

Cloud 9 Spa

The fitness center, gym, and spa were all rebranded as the Cloud 9 Spa.

Casino Expansion

The casino on the ship was expanded with additional gaming options and a redesigned layout. Interestingly, the Casino Bar remains; a feature Carnival has been removing from other ships during renovations. You’ll see the new space sports a much more contemporary design, toning done the visually loud designs originally applied by Joe Farcus.

Refreshed Kids’ Areas

Carnival’s dedicated youth spaces—Circle “C” and Club O2—have also been refreshed. In Camp Ocean, kids can now play on a new LED feature wall that offers multiplayer, interactive video games. For older kids, Carnival added new gaming and karaoke experiences.

Other Changes

  • Dream Studio, for personalized photo sessions, was added on Deck 3.
  • The Carnival Adventures desk was added on Deck 5, replacing the Internet Kiosk.
  • Carpets and furniture in public areas were upgraded.

Carnival Valor Sailing from New Orleans

Once the Carnival Valor completes its transatlantic sailing, it will resume its year-round schedule sailing out of New Orleans. It will offer four- and five-day itineraries to the Western Caribbean.
