Celebrity Adds New Perks for Its Most Loyal Cruisers

A lot has been said about loyalty programs over the past two years, from Royal Caribbean Group and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings extending loyalty programs across all their brands to Carnival gutting its loyalty program. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity’s Points Match and Points Choice, where your levels get matched across the brands, and you can decide which program your points go to, have been incredibly popular. Now, Celebrity is helping reward its most loyal Captain’s Club members with some additional benefits.

Introducing Captain’s Club Milestone Benefits

Celebrity’s loyalty program, called Captain’s Club, has 6 different tiers: Preview, Classic, Select, Elite, Elite Plus, and Zenith. Members move between the tiers by getting points, rather than collecting nights like on other cruise lines.

According to Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge, the biggest complaint she hears about the loyalty program is the large gap between tiers at the highest level. Once you qualify for Elite Plus, you need 2,250 points to get to Zenith. To put that in perspective, that’s 750 nights in a standard veranda cabin or 187 nights if you stay in a Royal Suite.

“You want something more to strive for. Something more aspirational. Specifically between Elite Plus and Zenith,” she said in a video announcing the change.

To help bridge that gap, Celebrity has introduced Milestone Benefits. These benefits come on top of the benefits guests already receive for being at their current status.
