Disney Adventure: A Ship Unlike Any Other in the Disney Fleet

Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming ship, the Disney Adventure, will be unlike any other in the fleet. This massive 208,000-gross-ton vessel will accommodate 6,700 guests, making it 44% larger than the Disney Wish. The ship will also feature a completely new layout and attractions, setting it apart from the rest of the Disney fleet.

The reason that the ship is so different is that it was originally built as the Global Dream. When the cruise line constructing it went bankrupt mid-construction, Disney purchased the ship and adapted it to meet its needs.

Disney Adventure will feature seven themed areas throughout the ship. Today, we get a first look at one of those areas: the Imagination Garden.

Outdoor Imagination Garden on Disney Adventure

Disney Adventure will feature a split superstructure design, creating large spaces mid-ship that are open to the outside. You’re likely familiar with this concept if you’ve sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class or MSC’s World-class ships. The ship has large courtyards in the middle, lined with cabins, and open to the elements.

On the Disney Adventure, this area will be called the Outdoor Imagination Garden. Disney will use this space as the ship’s central hub, taking the place of the Grand Hall found on its other ships. The area will transport guests into the pages of a Disney pop-up book. The flowers, topiaries, trees, and vines will be styled like paper cutouts, and popular Disney characters will be stationed throughout the space.

Garden Stage in Imagination Garden

On one side of the Imagination Garden will be Garden Stage. This state-of-the-art facility will have three-deck-high LED screens and special effects. In front of it will be a “lawn” where guests can sit and watch the amphitheater performances. A grand staircase will act as additional seating and a way to the rest of the garden courtyard.

The Garden Stage will have performances throughout the day. It will also feature Avengers Assemble!, a stunt show that will feature l showcase the unbelievable powers of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Loki, and more (Deadpool will make his Disney Cruise Line debut on the Adventure).

Imagination Garden Eateries

The garden courtyard will have two quick-service eateries and a bar.

Mowgli’s Eatery – This new restaurant will serve Indian cuisine, including vegetarian options. The space will be styled after early concept art from “The Jungle Book” and authentic design influences.

Gramma Tala’s Kitchen – This restaurant will reflect the scenery from “Moana,” with Pacific Island-themed decor. The menu will feature flavors from throughout the Pacific and Asia.

Disney’s First Castle at Sea

Disney Adventure will also debut the first Castle at Sea. This three-deck-tall castle illustration will anchor one end of the Imagination Garden. It will feature nods to the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland Paris, and Rapunzel’s castle, along with influences from sketches by legendary Disney artists such as Herbert Ryman, Frank Armitage, and Eyvind Earle.

Disney Adventure Introduces Garden View Staterooms

The ship will also feature Disney’s first “garden view” staterooms. Typically, these types of staterooms would be interior, but because of the ship’s split superstructure, they line the Imagination Garden instead. Guests can book cabins with balconies all along the Imagination Garden.

Disney Adventure Will Sail From Singapore

Another unique aspect of the Adventure is that it will be based in Singapore when it debuts in 2025. It’ll also be the only Disney ship to offer three- and four-night voyages with no ports, allowing guests to fully explore this massive new ship.
