Legend of the Seas Gets 2-Story Casino
Royal Caribbean’s upcoming ship, Legend of the Seas, is set to debut in July 2026. With most of the details already released, it was expected to be mostly a copy of its two older siblings. Now we know it will have at least one big change: the casino.
Legend of the Seas Casino Gets an Upgrade

In an email sent to Club Royale members, Royal Caribbean’s casino loyalty program, the line announced that the casino will receive a “major upgrade” and span two stories. Interestingly, the message did not say the casino will be larger, only that it will be two levels.
Where Will It Go?
Deck plans have not yet been updated with this new information. Currently, they show the same layout as Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, with the casino occupying a large portion of the middle section of Deck Four.

Based on the designs of the earlier ships, the casino would need to extend down to Deck Three in order to become two stories. That leaves two possible scenarios: Royal Caribbean could use the conference center (unlabeled blue box at bottom of Deck 3) and some interior cabins, or it could replace the Music Hall, which is already two stories.
Recent changes announced for Ovation of the Seas may provide a clue. Royal Caribbean is removing the ship’s two-story Music Hall and replacing it with more casino space and a new one-story music venue. They could follow a similar path on Legend of the Seas by downgrading the Music Hall to a single level.
Will Royal Caribbean Create a Real Non-Smoking Section?
The casinos on Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas include both smoking and non-smoking sections, but there is no physical divider between them. While the ships use strong fans to filter the air, passengers still have to walk through the smoky area to reach other parts of the ship.
Other cruise lines have implemented more effective solutions. Carnival’s Excel Class ships feature a fully separated smoking casino, divided by a hallway. Norwegian’s Prima Class has a glass-enclosed smoking area. Celebrity Cruises and Virgin Voyages have taken an even stronger stance by banning smoking entirely in their casinos. Compared to these, Royal Caribbean’s design feels outdated.
