Legend of the Seas Reveals: New Dining, Broadway Show, and Experiences

Royal Caribbean just announced some more details about their upcoming ship, Legend of the Seas. The third Icon Class ship, it will tie for the largest cruise ship in the world. But the Legend of the Seas will also have some differences from its siblings.

Royal Railway – Legend Station

The Royal Railway comes to Legend of the Seas with Legend Station.

Royal Railway first debuted on Utopia of the Seas. This interactive dining experience puts guests on an old-fashioned dining car where they enjoy a themed dinner and show onboard. Video screens and motors in the seats simulate moving through the terrain, so much so that you might forget you are really on a cruise ship.

On Utopia of the Seas, the concept currently centers around the Wild West. On Legend of the Seas, guests will have a five-course meal along the ancient Silk Routes through China, India, and Italy.

Royal Caribbean previously trademarked Star Station, so it was speculated that the venue would appear on Star of the Seas, but it seems they needed more time to make a change. The deck plans have not yet been updated to show where this venue will be located.

Hollywoodland Supper Club

The Icon Class saw the debut of the Supper Club, the highest-end dining experience on a Royal Caribbean ship. This venue pairs a multi-course meal with cocktails and live performances. It is a very intimate experience; on Icon and Star, the venue only held 46 people.

On Icon of the Seas, it was Empire Supper Club, themed after New York in the 1920s. On Star of the Seas, it was Lincoln Park Supper Club out of Chicago.

The Supper Club on Legend of the Seas gets a Hollywood twist.

For Legend of the Seas, it will be Hollywoodland Supper Club. It will be a tribute to the golden age of Hollywood and highlight the journey of the film industry from the 1910s to the 1950s, with food and cocktails paired to match the theme.

New Restaurants at AquaDome Market

AquaDome Market has been an incredibly successful concept on the Icon Class. This food hall-style venue has five food stalls where guests can order different cuisines made to order. Best of all, it is completely complimentary.

On Legend of the Seas, they are changing it up and offering five all-new concepts that will be open all day (the restaurants will be announced in the future). They will also have a new juice and smoothie bar in this location.

The Big Show is Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”

Royal Caribbean has continued to offer high-quality Broadway-style entertainment while their competition has cut back. On Icon of the Seas, they have The Wizard of Oz, while Star of the Seas features Back to the Future: The Musical.

On Legend of the Seas, they will be bringing Roald Dahl’s CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Royal Caribbean has partnered with Music Theatre International (MTI) to bring this show to the mega ship.

The show debuted on the West End in London in 2013 and was on Broadway from 2017 to 2018. It features well-known songs from the movie like “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” “Oompa Loompa,” and “Pure Imagination.” It also has 18 brand-new songs not included in the movie.

New Spin on Mini Golf at Lost Dunes

Lost Dunes Minigolf gets re-themed.

The Lost Dunes will get a “new spin” with more challenging holes and a volcano.

Surfside Improvements

The Surfside neighborhood, which has always been designed around young families, gets some changes as well. The carousel returns but with a new theme featuring rubber ducks. The playscape has also been redesigned and enhanced.

Category 6 WaterPark

The Category 6 Waterpark will feature the same slides with new colors.

The largest waterpark at sea will return on Legend of the Seas. It appears to have the same six record-breaking (or in this case, record-tying) slides, but with a new color theme.

Legend of the Seas Debuts in the Mediterranean and Then Fort Lauderdale

Legend of the Seas will debut in the Mediterranean in summer 2026. It will be the first time an Icon Class ship has sailed Europe, giving guests an opportunity to explore this vibrant destination on the most advanced ship in the world.

In November, it will move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it will offer six- and eight-night Caribbean sailings. (Icon and Star will continue seven-day sailings.)

My Take: Minor Improvements Continue to Refine the Icon Class

Last month, I had my first opportunity to try the Icon Class when I sailed on a Showcase Sailing on Star of the Seas (Icon of the Seas was just too expensive to justify the sailing for me). After sailing it, I was honestly blown away. It was clear that Royal Caribbean put a lot of thought into the ship, and each iteration has minor tweaks and improvements over its siblings. If you have sailed Icon and Star, Legend might not be a “must-do” if you are looking for something completely different, but it shows Royal Caribbean’s commitment to evolution and improvement
