Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber: Top-Deck Revealed
Margaritaville at Sea is making a big splash with its new flagship, Beachcomber. The line is converting the former Costa Fortuna into its boldest ship yet, reimagined from top to bottom in the carefree, beach-bar style fans love. While the official debut is expected in early 2027 from PortMiami, teaser images and press releases already hint at what to expect on the upper decks.
Let’s dive into the details of two major zones where Margaritaville’s spirit really shines: 5 O’Clock Somewhere and License to Chill.
5 O’Clock Somewhere: A Four-Deck Party Hub

One of the crown jewels of Beachcomber is the expanded 5 O’Clock Somewhere zone. On this ship, it will span four decks at the stern, making it the largest version of the concept to date. Margaritaville is removing the old sliding glass enclosure that was carried over from Costa Fortuna to open up the space and give it a true tropical-oasis feel. (Most of the sister ships have also had this roof removed due to technical issues.) Guests can expect lush greenery, open air, and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.

In this area, guests will also find three dining and snack options:
- Mexican Cutie Cantina tucked in on Deck 9
- Cheeseburger in Paradise on Deck 10, which will be the world’s largest
- JWB on Deck 11, overlooking the aft pool
Whether you are grabbing a burger or sipping a frozen drink while watching the sunset, 5 O’Clock Somewhere will be the heart of the ship’s day-to-night energy.
License to Chill: Elevated Pool Deck Magic
Moving to midship, License to Chill becomes the soul of the upper decks. Margaritaville has reimagined this zone with a tropical theme and added several features that balance relaxation and fun.

Here’s what to expect:
- A central main pool
- Two hot tubs
- A kids’ pool plus an additional hot tub
- A twister water slide for extra excitement
- Tiered seating that overlooks the pools, a live stage, and a massive TV screen
- A new grab-and-go venue, the Daiquiri Shack, for quick, refreshing drinks

The tiered seating is similar to what you might see on Carnival’s Destiny or Sunshine class ships and offers great views for poolside shows and performances.
Beachcomber will also introduce tropical cabanas, a first for the Margaritaville at Sea fleet. These shaded retreats give guests a private yet convenient place to relax while still being close to all the action (for an extra charge).
Beachcomber Looks Like a Completely New Ship

Margaritaville at Sea has never built a ship from scratch; instead, it has purchased older ships from other cruise lines. What’s impressive is that the ships do not feel like they just received a coat of paint. They are completely reimagined to match Margaritaville’s signature aesthetic of laid-back island vibes and live entertainment. It shows how quickly this newer cruise line is growing in popularity. They are taking ship hardware from lines like Carnival and turning it into something entirely new and full of personality.
