Margaritaville at Sea Reveals the Beachcomber
In May, Margaritaville at Sea announced a new ship would be coming to their fleet, the Costa Fortuna. While they didn’t reveal the name at that point, even though it had already been trademarked, today, they’ve revealed the ship will be called Beachcomber.
Margaritaville at Sea’s Biggest Ship Yet
The Beachcomber will be Margaritaville’s biggest ship, almost 20% larger than the Islander and holding up to 3,450 guests. While Margaritaville’s largest ship, it’s still a medium-sized ship compared to other ships out there.
For those who are familiar with Carnival ships, the Costa Fortuna is basically a sister to the Carnival Sunrise and Carnival Radiance. It has a massive 8-story central atrium with glass elevators and a skylight at the top. The ship also features four pools, including one with a retractable glass roof for inclement weather.

The ship will get a complete makeover, starting with the exterior. The hull will be adorned with classic vacation vibes, including palm trees and baby blue oceans in the style of classic surf art. You have to give Margaritaville credit; their ships certainly stick out.

Returning Favorites and New Concepts

Many of the favorites from the Islander and Paradise will make reappearances on Beachcomber, including:
- 5 o’Clock Somewhere
- Hemisphere Dancer
- Cheeseburger in Paradise
- License to Chill
In addition, they’re adding an astounding 15 new experiences for the Beachcomber.
Beachcomber isn’t just our largest ship; it’s a floating celebration of everything guests love about Margaritaville at Sea hospitality, turned up a few notches,” said Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea. “Building on the magic and momentum of Islander, we set out to create an experience that’s even more immersive, playful, and full of unexpected delights. Whether you’re sailing with us for the first time or returning for more, Beachcomber promises sun-soaked surprises and the signature spirit.”
Beachcomber Homeport Yet to Be Revealed
Margaritaville will release the homeport and itineraries for the new ship in the future. Currently, they sail from Palm Beach and Tampa Bay.
That said, there’s a lot of speculation that it will be homeported in Galveston, Texas. The official Port of Galveston website listed Margaritaville at Sea at Terminal 25 for a sailing from November 29 to December 4. That lines up with the expected debut date of the new ship.

The page has since been removed, but it does give some hope to those who don’t want to travel to Florida to cruise.
