MSC Poesia to Receive Major Upgrades Ahead of Alaska Season
MSC is set to sail its first Alaskan itineraries in summer 2026 when the MSC Poesia will debut in Seattle. The Poesia, a small-sized ship in the Musica Class, debuted in 2008. To prepare for the Alaskan season, MSC just announced that the ship will get some big upgrades. Let’s look into the changes.
MSC Yacht Club Comes to Poesia

MSC Yacht Club is their ship-within-a-ship luxury concept, similar to The Haven on Norwegian Cruise Line or The Retreat on Celebrity. Yacht Club didn’t exist when the Poesia debuted, but they’re adding a Yacht Club during the renovations. Guests staying here will enjoy 24-hour butler and concierge service, private dining, and dedicated spaces that blend privacy with luxury.
Highlights include:
- 63 new suites across five categories, from ocean-view balconies to connected family-friendly layouts.
- The Royal Suite, features a private whirlpool, an 840-square-foot terrace, and an outdoor shower.
- The Two-Room Grand Suite, offers an intimate space with an expansive balcony.
- Private sundeck with a Grill & Bar, two hot tubs, cabanas, and a relaxed outdoor dining area.
- Top Sail Lounge, an elegant bar and lounge on the foredeck with floor-to-ceiling windows.
- Exclusive Yacht Club Restaurant, complete with refined menus and sommelier service.
Suites will include premium details such as marble bathrooms, embroidered towels, Nespresso machines, a complimentary minibar, and 24-hour room service.
New and Enhanced Bars and Dining
The ship’s upgrades also bring new and updated specialty dining options for guests who want to spend a little extra on meals.

- Butcher’s Cut – A classic American-style steakhouse with premium cuts, including Meat by Linz beef. It’ll be added at the back of the buffet.
- Kaito Sushi Bar – This venue moves from it’s current location to replace The Hitchcock Lounge Cigar Room. Here, you’ll find delicious, hand-rolled sushi.
They’ll also add an All-Stars Sports Bar, which just debuted on the MSC World America and it will replace the Il Grappolo d’Oro wine bar and photo desk area. Meant to cater to a more American audience, the venue will have big-screen TVs, a selection of beers, sports bar games, and the option to order snacks (for an extra cost).
Revamped Spa and Fitness Facilities.

MSC Poesia will also see major improvements to its wellness areas. The Aurea Spa will be revamped. Here, guests will find an ocean-view sauna, steam rooms, a salt room, a Kneipp path, and a relaxation lounge.
The gym will also be updated, with state-of-the-art equipment by Technogym, ocean-facing workout spaces, and a yoga room. It’ll replace the S32 Disco at the back of Deck 14.
Outside of the spa, Poesia will feature a jogging track, basketball court, and tennis courts.
Sailing Alaska in 2026, Then Miami

MSC Poesia will spend the summer of 2026 in Alaska, sailing out of Seattle and visiting ports like Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, Juneau, and Victoria, British Columbia.
After that, it will do a Panama Canal sailing when it moves to Miami, where it will sail to ports like Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, and Belize.
