Norwegian Cruise Line Sailing From Philadelphia in 2026

Great news for those in the Pennsylvania / South Jersey area: Norwegian Cruise Line is coming to Philadelphia. It’s the first time a cruise ship has left Philadelphia since 2011. Guests will be able to take Bermuda or New England cruises out of this port starting in Spring 2026.

Norwegian Jewel Coming to Philadelphia

Norwegian will be bringing the Norwegian Jewel to the city of brotherly love. The Jewel is a small cruise ship, only holding roughly 2,330 guests. It was originally built in 2005 but has been renovated several times since then, the most recent being in 2022.

The ship has 12 different restaurants and 12 bars for guests to enjoy, including Norwegian’s popular Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro, and O’Sheehan’s.

The Jewel will leave from the Southport Marine Terminal Complex, just minutes away from Citizens Bank Park and less than 30 minutes from Center City Philadelphia.

According to the port of Philadelphia, “Thirty million people live within 100 miles, or a two-hour drive, of the Port. Now people looking to take a cruise will not have to fly or travel long distances to embark on a voyage.”

Jewel Will Sail to Bermuda From Philadelphia in the Summer

Cruises will start on April 16, 2026. Over the summer, the Jewel will sail 7- and 9-day cruises to Bermuda. The 7-day sailings will give guests an overnight in the Royal Naval Dockyard before heading to Charleston, South Carolina. The 9-day sailings will spend three days in Bermuda before heading to Charleston, where they will also overnight. Both itineraries will feature three sea days.

The overnight stop in Bermuda will allow guests to enjoy the beauty of Horseshow Bay by day and the vibrant nightlife of Hamilton by night.

Norwegian Jewel Will Also Visit New England in the Fall

In the fall, the ship will alternate between Philadelphia and Quebec City, offering 10- and 11-day Canada and New England sailings. These one-way trips will visit Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Philadelphia Is Another Great Option for the Northeast

Flying to/from a cruise is always the worst part of cruising. Now, residents in the Northeast have yet another option to choose from where they can drive instead of fly. While there are quite a few options out of New York (see the New York options here), Philadelphia is another great option, especially for those in Delaware, South Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
