Virgin Voyages Offering Hotel/Airline Status Match for 2 Days

Loyalty programs are a way for companies to increase customers returning to their products and build brand loyalty, but it’s not the most helpful when you’re a new cruise line. Virgin Voyages, which officially launched in 2021, is in that predicament where they’re still trying to build a loyal fan base. To help with that, Virgin Voyages offers a “status match.” so guests who have earned loyalty status on other cruise lines can receive enhanced status when they sail onboard Virgin Voyages. Now, for three days only, they’re opening this status match to airline and hotel programs as well.

What does Virgin Voyages status match get you?

Virgin Voyages has three levels in their program. The base level of “Virgin Voyages Sailing Club,” “Blue Extras,” and “Deep Blue Extras” (DBE). Typically, guests don’t get “Blue Extras” status until their third sailing on Virgin Voyages, but guests who use status match are eligible to get it on their first sailing.

If you have Blue Extras you’re entitled to:

A complimentary specialty coffee per day
1 bag complimentary laundry service per sailing
An exclusive cocktail event on board
Dedicated sailor services support

The most beneficial item here is likely to be the specialty coffees.

Hotel and Airline programs eligible for Virgin Voyages’ status match

If you’re a member of any of these programs, you can apply for status match. Just note that status Match excludes basic / entry level loyalty program membership.

How to file for status match

To take advantage of this offer, you’ll need to book a Virgin Voyages sailing between April 24-26. Once booked, you’ll need to submit proof of the travel loyalty program by April 26. Guests will receive the benefits as soon as they board.

Guests who want to match their cruise line status don’t have to book during the promotion. The Virgin Voyages cruise line status match is running through December 31, 2024.
