The Carnival Elation was built in 1998. It was renovated in 2020. It's considered a small size ship. Coming in at 855 ft long and 103 ft wide, it's roughly the length of 2.4 football fields, as wide as 1.9 tractor trailers, and the same height as a 10-story building.

The Elation is one of two Fantasy-class ships currently sailing with Carnival. Ecstasy-class ships are the oldest in Carnival's fleet. There used to be 8 ships in this class, but only 2 remain. They're on the smaller side, making them easier to get around, but they might be missing a lot of the activities and features found on larger ships. These ships also aren't built with a lot of balcony cabins, making balcony cabins harder to get and more expensive. The Elation is very similar to its sister-ships; Paradise, although each ship may have some differences.

Food is a big part of any cruise, and there will plenty on the Carnival Elation. You have 10 different dining options to choose from. Of those options, 7 are complementary, or included with your cruise fare. The other 3 options have an additional fee. Some of those options are a set price and some have a la cart menu pricing. 70% of the dining options are included which means if you're watching your budget, you won't feel like you're missing out by not going to a lot of extra fee dining places.

Pools and Hot Tubs on Carnival Elation

Nothing beats relaxing by a pool with a nice drink in hand as you feel the fresh sea breeze pass by you. The problem is that with thousands of people on a ship, there's not always room.
